In the era of digitalization, the importance of digital marketing has increased from one year to another. As part of the marketing strategy it is highly practiced by organizations, companies and businesses of any type and any size. Given that digital marketing requires the high attention on social platforms, the success or the failure of the company’s online communication depends to a significant extent on the quality of its content marketing. In this context, besides promoting a high quality of the content marketing, the digital marketers must undertake an analysis of the target in order to adapt their content and to choose the right way of promoting it. This report defines the concept of digital marketing and its importance that it has within the marketing policies, as well as the impact of content marketing on digital platform.

Internship experience as a reporter at The Daily Star

This report presents my internship experience at The Daily Star, one of Bangladesh’s leading newspapers, known for its credibility, authenticity and vast range of coverage of both national and international news. The Daily Star was established in January 14, 1991. It was co-founded by journalist Syed Mohammad Ali and Mahfuz Anam. The newspaper is widely regarded for covering diverse range of news and particularly known for it’s editorial segment, which incorporates insightful analysis, thoughts and opinions on various national and international issues. Besides, The Daily Star is also admired for providing timely updates through its website and social media platforms, making it a source of news for readers both in Bangladesh and abroad. The aim of this report is to provide an in-depth look of my three-month internship as a reporting intern at The Daily Star. The newspaper did not only give me the opportunity to comprehend how internal works are done in a media organisation but also gave me the chance to know how media operates in our country. Alongside learning new things everyday, I also had the chance to apply many of the theories that I learned from media courses in a practical way.

This report highlights my internship experience at Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the national news agency of Bangladesh. Interning at such a prestigious organization provided me with the opportunity to work with seniors who had years of experience in the field of journalism. During the internship, I was engaged in desk based tasks such as proofreading, editing, editing slugs, introductions, headlines and translated news articles from Bangla to English. These responsibilities enriched me as a person. Overall, the internship at Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha strengthened my understanding of media operations and equipped me for future professional engagements.

Shaping the news: an intern’s experience at the New Nation editorial desk

This internship report highlights my hands-on-experience at The New Nation newspaper. The New Nation is the country’s first and oldest English newspaper which carries a proud history. The internship offered me the opportunity to work with the seniors who have years of experience in the field of journalism. During my internship I was engaged in the editorial desk where I was instructed to do news monitoring, news selection, caption writing, editing press releases and translating news articles from Bangla to English. Therefore, these tasks overall provided me with the insights of real newsroom experiences.

Inside the editorial desk: a media and cultural studies internship at The New Nation

This report is based on my internship experience at The New Nation, which is one of the oldest English-language daily newspapers in Bangladesh. It is known to influence the knowledgeable discussion of the population and the ethical principles of journalism. The internship in such a highly regarded organization gave me the experience to learn more about and engage in the daily operations of a professional newsroom. Some of the desk-based activities I did during the internship included editing and proofreading news reports, helping to prepare headlines, and arranging content to be published. These duties made me realize that accuracy, clarity, and ethical responsibility are essential in journalism. It was also a good experience that enabled me to use theoretical concepts from my academic background in actual practice in the newsroom. The internship at The New Nation was an effective learning process that enhanced my editorial abilities, optimized my cognition of the operations of the media, and led me to other future professional interactions in the media and communication sector.

During the internship, I was engaged in desk-based tasks such as editing and proofreading news reports, assisting in headline preparation, and organizing content for publication. These responsibilities helped me understand the importance of accuracy, clarity, and ethical responsibility in journalism. The experience also allowed me to apply theoretical concepts from my academic background to real newsroom practices. Overall, the internship at Dhaka Tribune was a meaningful learning experience that strengthened my editorial skills, improved my understanding of media operations, and prepared me for future professional engagements in the media and communication field.

Enhancing student talking time while teaching grammar at the secondary level

This internship report reflects the scenario of theoretical utopia and their practical implications in a challenging environment of a large, exam driven secondary level classroom at Jamila Khatun Lalbagh Girls’ High School, where the prominent way of teaching is traditional Grammar Translation Method (GTM) oriented. The report aims to enhance Student Talking Time (STT) by using Learner-centric approach, Elicitation techniques, Krashen’s “Affective Filter Hypothesis,” Vygotsky's “Zone of Proximal Development” and Bruner’s “Scaffolding.” From my initial observation, I concluded that the current approach of teacher spoon-feeding students just to excel in exams is not effective for the learners in terms of language proficiency. During my three-month internship period, I planned my lessons according to the mentioned theories to record the improvement. I found that if students are given enough motivation, opportunity and structured guidance, they can flourish within themselves without much dependency on the teacher even in the high pressured, time constraint scenario. The report argues that, even if there is an anticipation of completing the syllabus on time, student-centered methods will always be a better path to achieve high language acquisition among learners.

The experience demonstrated the significance of imparting theory-based instruction to facilitate student development in an international, English- speaking environment.

Sub-editing experience at UNB

United News of Bangladesh (UNB) is Bangladesh’s first fully computerized private news agency. The organization was founded in 1988 by Mr. Enayetullah Khan. It was established to provide timely, accurate news to media outlets across the country as well as internationally. It does not a have printed edition, however, it has a strong online presence, serving over 20 million readers both locally and internationally. The main focus of UNB is distribution services and it has established partnerships with global news agencies. The aim of this report is to provide an extensive overview of my three-month long internship at UNB as a sub-editor. The internship allowed me to gain a practical understanding of how digital media operates in our country. Moreover, through this internship, I was able to put my learning into practical use. Every day I learned something new, whether it was directly related to my work or related to personal growth.

Internship as sub-editor at Dhaka Tribune

Dhaka Tribune is a major trust-worthy and well-known Bangladeshi English-language daily newspaper based in Dhaka, Bangladesh, which began publication on 19 April, 2013. The newspaper also has an online portal- Bengali version- known as the Bangla Tribune. The newspaper is particularly highly regarded for their diverse and stellar op-ed content, and included works by prominent Bangladeshi and international columnists. The newspaper is owned by Gemcon Group and currently has Kazi Anis Ahmed as the publisher. Zafar Sobhan previously held the position of chief editor. The aim of this report is to provide a detailed and intensive look into my three-month internship at Dhaka Tribune as a sub-editor. The internship not only exposed me to the inner workings of a newspaper but also allowed me to gain a practical understanding of how digital media operates in our country. I learned something new every day, and I also had the opportunity to apply many of the theories and lessons I learnt in my media courses throughout my internship.
