dc.description.abstractn Bangladesh, women's workforce participation rate increased tremendously in the last couple of years, so this is a burning desire of working women to ensure their children's safety and wellbeing. They require a quality child daycare center at the community level to meet this demand. Homebased daycare could be a good option for them which is a new concept in the country. The purpose of this study was to explore working mothers' understanding of the homebased daycare in Dhaka city. This qualitative study was conducted on ten(10) working mothers in Dhaka city who have six months to 5 years children and data were collected through the indepth interview (I.D.I.) It is; most of the mothers are aware of the center-based daycare and experienced, but home-based daycare is a new concept to them. Findings also show that the mothers are very concerned about the quality of the home-based daycare. They also mention that it should be run under a strong authority. The study findings recommend that home-based daycare should be included in the Daycare Act 2021, and capacity development of owners and caregivers should be prioritized.en_US
