| dc.description.abstract | Nakshi Katha is one of famous our local craft and it also represents our culture as well. Women in our village make this art piece through needle and thread and put their emotions and their own stories on it. Using of their used clothes represents their economic status and shows how one can make an art piece by using old clothes. And Jamal pur is one of the cities that is famous for Nakshi katha, Katha stiches, nakshi related products and crafts. So, Bangladesh Handloom Board wanted to set up a project based on hand loom and handicraft products under Melandaho Upazila of Jamalpur district to create employment opportunities, especially for women as well as 'Nakshi' (design) entrepreneurs, supplying raw materials at reasonable prices and utilizing the talent of local artistes. This project would also protect and uphold tradition and culture of the country. This project will also create opportunity to show local and foreign visitors how our culture is rich with stiches and how it creates an open door for the people as for living as well as talent. | en_US |
