Abstract
This internship consists of my experience during the internship at National Credit and Commerce
(NCC) Bank PLC, General Banking Division. Opening and processing of accounts, digital KYC,
RTGS, BEFTN and remittance services. I assisted customers in the preparation of remittance
slips, documentation, Bangladesh Bank compliance, and back office record maintenance. I was
able to improve processing times, customer onboarding, and compliance with regulatory
frameworks. There was substantial growth at a personal and professional level during the
duration of the internship. I understood the operational performance and its effect on the overall
financial performance, learned concepts of efficient communication, problem solving, learned to
manage my time properly, self-discipline and the ability to withstand unfavourable conditions. I
learned to endure low customer paperwork volumes, client RTGS and BEFTN peak transactions
and discontent at the time of remittance, and paperwork delays learned to endure and adapt. This
paper situates the organisational processes, financial performance, and strategic direction of
NCC Bank beyond personal learning. From the bank's annual reports (2022 - 2024), discussed
with NCC bank staff, and operational observations, grade NCC Bank on the general banking and
investment portfolio management to the levels of liquidity, compliance and profitability. There
are great digital innovations, remittance services in high demand, and sustainable banking
practices, however, profitability is under pressure on the high deposit costs and competitive
banking sector. I greatly appreciated the practical experience in commercial banking and gained
relevant skills to pursue a career in finance.
