| dc.description.abstract | Supply chain disruptions in healthcare have far-reaching consequences, particularly in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) like Bangladesh, where the healthcare system is heavily reliant on imported medical supplies. This practicum examines the impact of supply chain disruptions on patient care and health outcomes in Bangladesh, with a focus on the availability of critical medical supplies during crises such as the COVID-19 pandemic and natural disasters like cyclones and floods. Through a combination of case studies, statistical data, and qualitative analysis, the study highlights how disruptions lead to shortages of essential medicines, delays in treatment, and adverse health outcomes, particularly for vulnerable populations such as women, children, and patients with chronic diseases. The practicum also explores strategies for enhancing the resilience of Bangladesh’s public healthcare supply chain. By addressing these challenges, Bangladesh can build a more resilient public healthcare supply chain, ensuring uninterrupted access to essential medical supplies. | en_US |
