Abstract

This report details the internship experience at NexGenix, a company specializing in social media marketing and brand engagement, undertaken as a mandatory academic requirement for BRAC University. The primary objective of this internship was to transition from an academic setting to a professional workspace, gaining hands-on experience in the Quality Assurance and UI/UX design departments. The report outlines the intern’s theoretical and technical training, which included mastering tools like Figma and studying Jakob Nielsen’s usability heuristics and the design thinking process (Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test). Practical application of these skills is demonstrated through several key design projects. These include EduVerse an interactive educational platform designed to facilitate student-instructor communication, and Waliyy a Facebook-integrated e-commerce app featuring login, product browsing, and checkout functionalities. Additionally, the report covers the creation of SaaS-based dashboards and pricing table interfaces, utilizing specific UX principles such as Hick’s Law and Fitts’s Law to enhance user accessibility. Concluding the six-month tenure, the report highlights the successful adoption of user-centric design philosophies and professional documentation practices.
