dc.description.abstract | Antihypertensive drugs are widely used for the treatment of hypertension, heart failure and, recently, for cardiovascular risk reduction. Experimental studies implicate antihypertensive drugs in the regulation of cell proliferation, tumor progression and even cancer. The purpose of this study is to assess the association between cancer and previous use of antihypertensive medication, taking into account the class of antihypertensive drug and the occurrence of cancer between male and female. I took data of the signal from WHO Global Pharmacovigilance database named VigiBase and this database is available for general people by a web application VigiAccess. I use PRR and chi-square method to determine conduct my study. We select some antihypertensive drugs of several classes. This pharmacovigilance study suggests that all antihypertensive drugs are not associated with cancer. But some specific drugs of antihypertensive drugs which has large amount of reports has the risk of this association | en_US |
