dc.description.abstractStudent advising is a task that needs to be done at the beginning of every semester by all students who wish to register for courses in the upcoming semester. This is a tedious job and requires all advisors to be available during the advising period. As the number of students are progressively increasing year by year, the software used to advise the students for a semester need to be efficient andminimally time consuming for the advisors. Students need to have full access to all required information before meeting an advisor. In order to accomplish this, we have developed a fully web based advising system using ASP.NET, C# and SQL database. The students and faculty members who have been assigned as advisors will benefit from the use of this software. Being a web based software, students can finalise all the required advising decisions from the comfort and time of their homes instead of using the allotted window of advising in the university. Advisors only need to log onto their accounts, search for a student and confirm their advising if all courses are added to the advising sheet. Advisors also have the freedom to add or delete courses from the student’s advising sheet before confirming upon requirement.en_US
