The hiring process for corporations is usually handled by the Human Resource department of a company. In Chevron Bangladesh however, this is managed through the Staff Augmentation Process, which is owned by the Supply Chain Management (SCM) function of the company. The outsourcing agencies from which ‘contractors’ are hired have been aiding to fulfill the staffing needs of the company since the commencement of its Chevron’s operations in the Bangladesh. I had the privilege to work very closely and understand the Staff Augmentation process being a part of the Contracts division of the SCM department as an intern. My role, responsibilities and contribution to the process during the in period is described in detail in this report as well as the learning acquired from the experience. I have also attempted to point out some of the challenges that the company faces in executing the process and provide some recommendations.en_US
