dc.description.abstractThe study showcases the present condition of Dhaka city’s Linguistic Landscape. It is the written language in textual format on the visible signboards, billboards, nameplates even on the shop windows which are meant for the public. This study intends to unveil the languages used on the capital of Bangladesh, Dhaka city’s linguistic landscape and why is English language receiving priority over the national language, Bangla by analyzing 513 signboards and interviewing 30 shop owners/keepers.en_US
