Cox’s Bazar has the longest sea beach in the world and it is the top tourist destination in Bangladesh and many more significant places are situated there. Till this moment if anyone wish t go and visit there they have to take airplane or bus as public transportation and the other option is private vehicle. By airplane it takes only one hour to reach Cox’s Bazar and 8-10 hours by Bus from the capital of the country. But train is the most popular transport in this country. From Dhaka there is an option by train that reaches to Dohazari, Chottogram, but rest of the way is by road. So Bangladesh Railway planned to build a rail track to reach Cox’s Bazar without any obstacle. This project will reduce the time of journey. People of this area can easily travel to the other part of the country, can make business network faster than before, and move products more efficiently. However the construction of single line dual gauge rail track has been started. The main focus now is on the destination architecture. They aims to build an Iconic building for the Cox’s Bazar Rail station. Which will represent the top tourist destination hub and create a new landmark in the country. Initially they decided to build a station building inspired by Sea-Shell. The Asian Development Bank (ADB) will finance in this project. Around 46500 passengers is estimated to arrive and departure per day. That target of 1200 of both arriving and departing passengers to be cleared in 30 minutes, where two class of passengers are categorized. They are Shulov- 60% and First class-40%. The station will be built near the Kalatali sea beach that is 3.5 kilometer east from the main beach. Right beside the main station building there will be housing apartment for railway officials and worker but that will be a separate project.en_US
