Accounting practices and financial management in an IT solutions company: A study on GMGI Solutions Limited

Abstract

This report is based on the internship experience under GMGI solutions limited. Chapter 1 explains the scope of the internship, responsibilities in the Accounts and Admin Department, such as maintenance of ledger, cash management, invoice, and financial reporting and professional skills acquired. Chapter 2 gives in-depth organization analysis of GMGI Solutions Limited: its GIS and IT services offerings, management and marketing styles, financial accounting protocols, its operational infrastructure, and a five forces and SWOT analysis of the company. Furthermore, all the data collected for analysis are from year 2023-2025. Chapter 3 shows applied research on the topic " Accounting System Effectiveness and Financial Control Practices at GMGI Solutions Limited " that shows whether SME IT companies in Bangladesh have the sound accounting controls in practice. It turns out that manual and semi-digital bookkeeping is in use, with potential to improve the system level in line with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
