Jasim Uddin, better known as “Palli Kobi” or the Rural Poet, remains one of the most prominent poets in Bengal literature since his poetry is inspired by wonderful stories from Bengali folk tales along with true country life. He managed to touch the hearts of people and become a leader of their hopes and dreams due to his unique ability to express the hardships of village life in simple and sorrowful poems. This summary articulates why there is a need to fully set up and operationalize Peshawar University’s project on Jasim uddin folklore museum and cultural center which aims at preserving and actively advancing Bangladesh's invaluable folk heritage.Jasim Uddin Folklore Museum and Cultural Center is crucial to the preservation and commemoration of Bangladesh's ‘cultural heritage’. In honor of "Palli Kobi" Jasim Uddin, whose literary works such as "Nakshi Kanthar Math" brought ‘Bengali folklore’ into the mainstream, the center will feature exhibits of artifacts as well as be a working area for academic research, educational programs, and traditional arts performances. This comprehensive approach guarantees these valuable traditions to survive and thrive for generations to come.en_US
