| dc.description.abstract | This thesis explores the architectural design and development of a Youth Center integrated with the Government Physical Education College in Mohammadpur, Dhaka. Initiated by the Ministry of Housing and Public Works, the project addresses the growing need for youth-oriented facilities amidst increasing youth unemployment and underutilization of existing infrastructure. Through extensive site and context analysis, literature review, and case studies, including the Aga Khan Academy in Dhaka and Lin’an Sports and Culture Center in China, the thesis identifies spatial strategies that promote physical education, social interaction, and vocational development. The proposed 150,000 sq. ft. complex includes academic, training, recreational, and administrative facilities, as well as residential dormitories, designed to transform an inactive site into a vibrant, multifunctional hub. Emphasis is placed on sustainability, accessibility, and community engagement, aiming to create a civic space that encourages youth empowerment, health, and productivity. The project ultimately envisions a landmark that bridges educational, recreational, and social functions to holistically support the development of Bangladesh’s youth. | en_US |
