Abstract

This paper is aimed towards documenting the design decisions, the implementation process, and the cognitive work in the background that went into developing the design of BRAC Convention Center. The thinking process and methodologies that led to the derivation of design intent for BRAC Convention center has been discussed in this paper. Keeping the focus on enhancing productivity and networking under the banner of BRAC, the potential ways of achieving the mentioned design intent have been studied and accordingly included in this discourse. The relationship and dialogue between the site surrounding and the proposed design solution has been explored rigorously which is inclusive of the design derivation process. The culmination of the studies and multiple layers of experimentation can be seen in the produced floor plans, sections, elevations and other related design drawings, which have been discussed in the later portion of this paper.
