Talent resourcing and succession planning in the banking sector: a case study on Dhaka Bank

Citation

Abstract

In this report, the focus will be on practices and effectiveness of talent resourcing and succession planning in Dhaka Bank in the effort to know how the strategies influence organizational continuity and staff progression. The study using qualitative interviews and internal observations reveals the major areas as the recruitment efficiency, leadership pipeline readiness, and the talent strategy and business goals alignment. Although Dhaka Bank has taken some steps in the right direction by ensuring that they attract and retain competent professionals, the bank has some work in long term planning, in-house skills advancement as well as clear career advancement channels that are transparent. The results imply that the bank would face leadership vacuum and talent loss in case there is no well-organized and progressive system of succession planning. Dhaka Bank should concentrate on active talent sourcing, continuous learning and development of employees as well as establishment of a successful succession model to build a strong workforce of the future. Such advances are necessary to maintain a high level of operation as well as increase the rate of employee engagement and strategic responsiveness in a rival banking situation.
