Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Manmondir

Abstract

Space science is essential for information technology, disaster management, weather forecasting, communication and many other important sectors like global positioning (GPS), controlling satellite or observing space. Hence, space science has great importance in education and tourist destination. Having this in mind, Bangladesh ministry of Science and Technology has taken initiative to construct ‘Bangabandhu Seikh Mujibur Rahman Manmondir’ for the very first time in Barisal where time and space would come under a single complex. Thus, this will be an institution of edutainment to popularize space science and tourism. It will also open a window for young generation of Bangladesh to explore the wonders of universe as well as getting entertained along the way. Furthermore, due to the geographical location (22.7010° N, 90.3535° E) the project has the potential to be a significant landmark that would attract interested space observers from Bangladesh and beyond.
