This report has been prepared as part of the Post Graduate Diploma in Knitwear Industry Management (PGD-KIM) program at BRAC University. It is based on my internship experience at Disari Industries (Pvt.) Ltd., a 100% export-oriented knit garment manufacturer and a sister concern of the Goldstar Group. During the internship period, I worked across five key departments- Quality Management System (QMS), Production, Marketing and Merchandising, and Human Resource Management (HRM). This cross-departmental exposure provided me with a comprehensive understanding of the entire garment production process, covering order negotiation, raw material coordination, production control, quality assurance, and shipment procedures. It also enabled me to apply theoretical concepts learned from the PGD-KIM coursework in real industrial environments and observe the interdependence among different functional areas in achieving organizational objectives. This report presents an overview of each department’s functions, highlights my practical learning experiences, and identifies areas for improvement, including efficiency enhancement, digital system integration, and workforce development initiatives. Overall, the internship was a highly valuable professional experience that strengthened my technical knowledge, analytical thinking, and communication skills, effectively preparing me for a successful career in the textile and apparel industry.
