Abstract
This report is based on my internship at R.M Interlinings Ltd., a well-known name in
Bangladesh for making woven, knit, non-woven, stretch, and special interlinings used inside
garments. The company started in 1996 as the first local producer of both woven and nonwoven
interlinings and is still the only fully vertically integrated one in the country. It sits
inside Chittagong EPZ, runs high-end machines from Germany, Switzerland, and Denmark,
and holds Oeko-Tex Standard 100 (Product Class I) plus ISO 9001:2015 certifications.
The report is made up with following main sections- a detailed look at the company,
Production process and different departmental function, how the PGD-KIM courses connected
to real work, plus strengths, weaknesses, and ideas for making the interlinings industry better
and my own reflections on what I learned and how I’ve grown from the experience. I saw the
full flow — from weaving yarns into fabric, dyeing and coating it, testing everything
carefully, developing new items (they’ve made over 2600 types so far), handling all the EPZ
paperwork, dealing with buyers, and managing people. It was eye-opening and helped me
understand teamwork, quality, and timing in a real factory. The internship made me more
confident and ready for a job in knitwear or accessories.
