Abstract

Firstly, in this report, I have shared my experience of working as an intern at Square Toiletries Limited. In the first chapter, all the necessary information related to the internship is provided. As an intern, I was required to perform some specific responsibilities that enabled me to get a first-hand experience of real-life work culture. Secondly, this report illustrates an in-depth overview of the company as well as its day to day practises such as management, marketing, operations to present their effect on the overall operations. Moreover, the report also provides competitive analysis such as Porter’s five forces and SWOT analysis of the organization. Additionally, it provides some critical recommendations based on the competitive analysis. Finally, the third chapter provides a project on the diversity management during the pandemic in Bangladesh. The purpose of the study is to understand the difficulties of managing a diversified workforce in midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. The study is based on the qualitative data collected through interviews of nine Bangladeshi management professionals from different industries. The findings suggest that the personal prejudice against gender, and age plays a vital role in hindering inclusive workplace. Moreover, generational gap and power gap among employees contribute to lack of communication and transparency. In addition to that, the socio-cultural situation of Bangladesh is one of the major concerns working against the workplace diversity. Further, most organizations addressed the problem by providing temporary solutions. This study provides several practical implications to propose good practices of workplace inclusion as it may create robust social and economic impact on Bangladesh.
