My internship report is based on my three months experience at Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC in the Marketing and Communication department. The research project is called: Assessing the Effectiveness of Training and Development Programs in Enhancing Employee Performance at Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC, and concerns the roles that the training and development activities in Walton play in employee development and performance in the organization. The objectives of the research are as follows: assessment of the efficiency of training programs, assessment of their efficiency in increasing the productivity of employees and their extent of job satisfaction, and areas that can be improved. Primary as well as secondary data was employed, where primary information was collected through questionnaires, interviews and observation as part of my internship and secondary information was through journals, reports and organization documents. Results indicate that training programs at Walton have a lot of positive impacts on the employees, their skills, efficiency, and confidence. These initiatives are perceived positively by the employees, particularly in technical and leadership fields. But troubles include absence of department-related modules, fewer follow-up assessments, and the difficulties of remote workers in accessing it. The report concludes that training and development activities are an important aspect of success at Walton and a criterion that needs to be polished. Suggestions are to include departmental-based programs, enhancement of post-training evaluation mechanisms, and developing digital learning solutions.en_US
