Abstract

Linagliptin is often regarded as a primary treatment option for type 2 diabetes and has shown stronger inhibitory effects compared to other DPP-4 inhibitors. This study involves the comparative analysis of some key pharmaceutical parameters such as disintegration, friability, hardness, dissolution, and potency of linagliptin tablets of five different brands in Bangladesh. The analysis showed that all the brands maintain compliance with the friability test results with a little variation in their hardness and disintegration time. Brand A showed the highest dissolution rate on the other hand Brand D showed the lowest potency which is below the criteria. Although Brand A is a leading brand, the disintegration time was comparatively high than other brands. The evaluation from the analysis highlights the importance of continuous monitoring of quality control parameters in ensuring therapeutic efficacy and patient safety in different brands of linagliptin.
