Abstract

The main purpose of this report is to find and assess the Human Resources functions and Policies of Anchorless Bangladesh, identify the possibilities of improvement and suggest recommendations as per my learnings from BRAC University. Anchorless Bangladesh is a New York based (Anchorless Management LLC) early stage venture investment firm primarily focused on Bangladeshi startups with the goal of increasing global capital flow towards the opportunities in Bangladesh. The current investment portfolio of Anchorless Bangladesh contains notable names like Pathao and Shikho. All the key HR aspects of Anchorless Bangladesh such as talent acquisition, training and development, internal payroll, performance appraisal and the rest are discussed here. The overall goal of the HR functions at Anchorless Bangladesh is to optimize team performance across the board and create a positive workplace culture and environment. The startup ecosystem of Bangladesh has seen an immensely positive growth over the past few years. As the ecosystem evolves with more companies and investments, it is critical to put global standards of HR functions and practices in place to promote optimum growth and optimize the local talent to its fullest potential. Also, since my BBA Major is Human Resource Management, hence, my supervisor Dr. Md. Mizanur Rahman Sir and I felt that the chosen topic will reflect on a key aspect of the organization and connect well with my academic learnings by fulfilling the requirements of the internship report of my undergraduate degree.
