Abstract

“The celebration of indigenous and traditional forms of sports and games, which derive from the roots of many different communities, is a growing feature of contemporary culture.” — Kiochiro Matsuura As global society modernizes, maintaining cultural heritage has become a top concern, with traditional sports standing out as dynamic emblems of identity, history, and common values. These games, which have developed as means of amusement, physical exercise, and social interaction during festivals and communal gatherings, have been an essential part of rural life in Bangladesh. These cultural treasures are under danger because, despite their importance, they have been gradually declining due to modern lifestyles and digital distractions. According to this thesis, a traditional sports complex should be developed in Bangladesh, a place that has been specifically developed to conserve, advance and restore these activities with a rich cultural heritage. Besides retaining these traditions, the facility will ensure societal unity, discipline, cooperation, and health by providing potential generations with the opportunity to engage in traditional sports. This would attempt to enhance cultural preservation and community development in order to make sure that these traditional games remain an active aspect of the culture of Bangladesh as it adapts to the needs of contemporary society.
