Abstract
This report is a summary of my three months internship experience with HRPOOL, a Dhaka-based HR consultancy firm that deals with recruitment services, labor law compliance services, and HR advisory services. My roles were to coordinate clients, assist in digital marketing, assist with recruitments and helped in compliance audits and policy documentation. The internship has given me an opportunity to put various theories of HR into practice in a real-life consultancy environment and excel in terms of multitasking, communication, as well as HR documentation.
It is also discussed whether HRPOOL has a structure, what practices do they employ in the HR, what is their financial performance and do they use some HRIS tools such as BambooHR. The case study particularly pays attention to labor law compliance, i.e., how HRPOOL arranges its operation and delivery of services to its clients so that to be in conformance with the Labor Act, 2006, of Bangladesh. The thematic analysis of the interviews identifies similar omissions related to such areas as maternity benefits, and termination practices, prevalent among SMEs in particular.
The report rounds off with strategic recommendations to improve the compliance support activities with the clients, digital tool support, and ethical consultancy practices towards a more sustainable HR environment in Bangladesh.
