Abstract

This paper takes a close look at how BRAC Bank PLC handles sustainability and innovation, emphasizing on how the bank weaves ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) principles into its day-to-day work to build a banking model that’s set for the future. Three main sections here: my internship experience, an overview of the organization, and the main project analysis. First, I discuss the work I performed as a Universal Officer—my daily tasks, the key lessons I gained, and how I saw digital transformation and sustainable branch operations play out up close. There’s a big focus on what skills I picked up and how strategic moves toward sustainability actually changed how the bank works. Next, I present a full picture of BRAC Bank PLC itself: its vision, mission, values, how it’s structured, roles and responsibilities, and how the bank’s financials have held up over time. The final section digs into BRAC Bank’s commitment to sustainability. At this section, I explain how the “3P” approach—People, Planet, and Prosperity—shows up in real-world policies, from green finance and responsible lending to programs that boost financial inclusion. I also look at digital innovation, like paperless banking and omni-channel service, and review how effective BRAC Bank’s governance really is when it comes to being sustainable. The report highlights how BRAC Bank stands out as a green banking leader, thanks to its investments in renewable energy, backing for small businesses and women entrepreneurs, strong ESG reporting, and smart positioning in the market using SWOT and VRIO analyses. I also measure the bank’s financial performance over the past five years with growth stats and ratio reviews. In conclusion, I suggest that BRAC Bank should double down on its digital presence, fine-tune its sustainability reporting, broaden its reach into other industries, and stay even more collaborative with regulators—to establish itself firmly as a pioneer in sustainable banking in Bangladesh.
