Strategies for cost reduction in DHL global forwarding's air freight operations in Bangladesh: a financial perspective

Abstract

With this research paper, I aim to identify and evaluate cost reduction strategies implemented in DHL Global Forwarding's air freight operations in Bangladesh. The research methodology in this studyqualitatively assesses primary data that has been collected through interviews of the management team and employees of DHL Global Forwarding Bangladesh. As for the secondary data, I have used academic journals, publications, and industry reports. My findings and analyses suggest how DHL Global Forwarding Bangladesh can implement several cost-reduction strategies that includeimproving supply chain visibility, increasing the utilization of cargo capacity, optimizing route network, and leveraging technology to reduce operational costs. I have provided insights on how a reduction of costs in air freight operations will increase profitability in DHL Global Forwarding Bangladesh. These recommendations can also be beneficial to other logistics and transportation companies operating in Bangladesh.
