Chikungunya is a viral infection caused by the chikungunya virus propagated by the same kind of mosquito responsible for spreading Dengue and the Zika virus. Recently, the outbreak of chikungunya affected a considerable fragment of the population in Bangladesh causing a nationwide epidemic. The aim of this study was to gauge, understand and compare the public perception of the disease between people of educational background in the healthcare sciences and people of educational background in non-healthcare sciences as well as discern effective methods to help the population prevent themselves from being afflicted by the disease while also recognizing ways of providing relief to those who are already affected.en_US
