Abstract

The report is divided into three major chapters highlighting internship experience, organizational overview, and financial performance analysis using the CAMELS model. Through a CAMELS-based performance record, the report analyzed and compared the financial performance and overall soundness of MTBL with the help of secondary data, including annual reports, Bangladesh Bank guidelines, and relevant academic literature. Followed by quantitative research, the report highlights strengths, weaknesses, and areas of improvement in recent years of MTBL. The findings reveal that compared to the industry average, MTBL has a strong Capital Adequacy position, weak Asset Quality, improved management efficiency, conservative Liquidity status, and greater risk sensitivity. However, the bank has been in a relatively good position in terms of recent crises and higher non-performing loans (NPL). Lastly, based on the analysis, the report concludes with actionable recommendations, for instance, strengthening credit risk management, diversifying income sources, and improving cost efficiency and liquidity position for long-term sustainable growth in this competitive banking sector.
