Abstract

Muktagacha Upazila, located in Mymensingh is a vibrant town. But with time the upazila is losing all the value and sparks. The cultural aspects of Muktagacha are gradually being extinct. This paper discusses how the project tries to protect the cultural aspects and the vibrance of Muktagacha Upazila. The paper discusses about the project, Muktagacha Cultural Centre which aims to establish a multidimensional Centre that promotes community inclusion and preservation of rich cultural aspects, and sustainable urban development. The project intends to create a cohesive, sustainable, and culturally vibrant Cultural Centre. The Cultural Centre aims to revive endangered cultural activities including MrithShilpa, Nokshi Shikha as well as ancient performance arts like Gatha, Muktagacha Ghatugan. The project has special areas designated for traditional sports like Hadudu, Kabadi, Lathikhela and other regional competitions. The Centre Intends to revive traditional events including Rothomela., Noboborsho Utshob and other local festivities. The Cultural Centre also incorporates Aquaculture methods by reviving it. Through the integration of green infrastructure, sustainable aquaculture methods, biodiversity protection programs, and the preservation of nearby water bodies, environmental sustainability is established as a fundamental premise. By creating a more inclusive and pedestrian-friendly neighborhood, where the cultural center will act as a gathering point for people of diverse background.
