Abstract

This report details my experiences and contributions as an Assistant Merchandiser at BESTSELLER United Bangladesh, ensuring efficient manufacturing processes with partner factories, including AMANTEX, GMS, and Impress. My responsibilities encompassed coordinating between various departments (Production, Quality Control, Supply Chain, HR, and Marketing & Merchandising) to facilitate smooth execution of buyer orders from initial development to final shipment. This report presents a comprehensive overview of my internship experience as an Assistant Merchandiser at BESTSELLER United Bangladesh. Chapter 1 introduces the Bangladesh Ready-Made Garment (RMG) industry and BESTSELLER's role within it, highlighting the company's mission, vision, organizational structure, and commitment to sustainability. Chapter 2 details my direct engagement with five key departments: Production, Quality Control, Marketing & Merchandising, Human Resources, and Supply Chain Management. It describes the responsibilities and my experiences with each department and illustrates their interdependence in ensuring the smooth execution of buyer orders, from development to shipment. Chapter 3 offers a critical analysis of my experiences, including the application of academic coursework to real-world scenarios, the challenges encountered, and the solutions implemented. It also includes suggestions for industry improvement in areas such as workplace safety, sustainability, technological advancement, labor practices, market diversification, and trade practices. Chapter 4 concludes the report by summarizing key learnings, reflecting on personal and professional growth, and outlining future goals for continuous self-improvement within the global apparel industry. This report demonstrates a commitment to excellence in merchandising, a dedication to ethical and sustainable practices, and a drive to contribute to BESTSELLER BANGLADESH continued success.
