Abstract

Amigo Bangladesh Ltd. (ABL) is a subsidiary of Crystal International Group Limited. It is one of Bangladesh’s largest apparel manufacturing units and specializes in lifestyle, sportswear, and sweater production with a monthly capacity of 1.5 million pieces. ABL has approximately 4,000 employees, and the factory is located on around 55 acres. ABL takes part in advanced sustainability, CSR, and environmental initiatives. Key insights were obtained into cross functional operations, process optimization, and quality management during an internship spanning five core departments, i.e., Merchandising, Industrial Engineering, Quality Assurance, Production Planning, and Production of ABL. The experience obtained highlighted the importance of interdepartmental collaboration, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement, while identifying opportunities for enhanced communication, cost control, and workforce development. The internship connected academic theory with industry practice, fostering professional growth and a commitment to operational excellence and sustainable development within Bangladesh’s dynamic apparel manufacturing sector.
