Abstract

This report, “Enhancing Financial Efficiency: Evaluating Automation Alternatives for Bank Deposit Matching at Kazi Farms LTD” evaluates four different automation methods that Kazi Farms could implement for their business to increase efficiency. This report is prepared as part of the BBA degree at BRAC University. My internship period from 22/01/2025 to 21/04/2025. The first part of the report solely consists of my internship experience. It contains my personal information and also my supervisor’s information. It goes in-depth into my responsibilities and contributions to the company. Moreover, I also discussed the difficulties that I faced during the internship and ways how Kazi Farms could improve upon that aspect. The business’ core functional department like Human resource, Marketing, Accounting and Supply Chain practices and methods are discussed in the organization part. Furthermore, a SWOT analysis and Porter’s Five Forces analysis is conducted on the business to judge the business’ competitive strengths and weaknesses along with its position in the industry. Since accounting data of Kazi Farms was not publicly available, financial analysis is conducted on its two competitors, ACI and AMAN. In the project section, four alternative solutions of automation are suggested. The current operations of Kazi Farms have too much delay and this causes several operational inefficiencies like cash realization delay, customer dissatisfaction, rising operating costs. All these can be minimized by implementing the suggested automations. The alternatives are evaluated based on their setup cost, running cost and the potential costs that they could save for Kazi Farms in the future. One of the alternatives stand out among them based on “Equivalent Annual Annuity” calculations. Working as a sales accounts intern has helped me significantly as I became familiar with an ERP system which will help me in the future. Bank reconciliation was something that I learned in my academic life, but I got the opportunity to do it professionally for a company and actually make an impact. This internship has not only benefitted me professionally but also positively impacted my personal life. I became a better person who can handle criticism much better than before. My time management skills improved and I learned office etiquette.
