Disease, injury, or genetic illnesses may harm or destroy cells, tissues, and organs. Before being reintroduced into the body, stem cells are used to repair damaged or missing cells. New strategies for training embryonic stem cells to become specific cell types have been identified. Developing medicines that inhibit the self-renewal signals to cancer stem cells may be developed.
