Abstract

This report discusses my experience and learning during my 66-day internship at Tropical Knitex Ltd., a 100% export-oriented knit composite factory in Bangladesh. The internship was designed to complement theoretical knowledge with practical industrial experience, and I eventually had the opportunity to observe and work personally in various operational areas of the organization. During this time, I worked extensively within five departments- Knitting, Dyeing, Sewing, Industrial Engineering (IE), and Merchandising, all of which contributed to gaining a thorough understanding of production processes, quality control, and coordination in the apparel industry. The experience developed my technical and analytical skills, as well as my professional integrity and interpersonal communication skills. It also taught me more about what teamwork, efficiency, and sustainability entail in the manufacturing environment. Overall, the internship provided a practical basis for my future career in Knitwear work and helped boost my confidence in translating what I had learned in the classroom to real-world industry applications.
