The role of economic factors in influencing treasury risk management of Bank Asia PLC

Abstract

"The following study analyses the data of different economic indicators from the recent five years and correlates them with the performance of the treasury department operations conducted in Bank Asia PLC during the same time period.

The report consists of three chapters. The first chapter is brief, providing information about my internship experience at Bank Asia PLC from September 2024 to December 2024. The chapter includes, general information about the information, learnings acquired and difficulties faced during the internship, and recommendations to the organization to improve the internship experience for future interns.

The second chapter delves into the basics of the company analyzing the major operations of the department such as management, marketing, financial and accounting, operations system management practices of the bank. The chapter also provides an industry analysis for the bank comprising of SWOT, Porter’s five forces and PESTLE analysis.

The third, final and most important chapter of the report looks into the impact of economic indicators on treasury risk management of Bank Asia PLC. The chapter takes into account major indicators such as GDP, interest and inflation rate and foreign exchange to uses as metrics to judge their influence on the management and performance of treasury department od Bank Asia PLC.
