Abstract

The tourism and hospitality industry is currently at a state of boom in Bangladesh. With five well established international hotel and more to open over the next few years, the competition in the hotel industry is bound to see a greater escalation. With such steep competition, the marketing department of a 5-star hotel has to be on its toe to cater to the changing demands and wants. This report will provide a detailed insight into the marketing activities and promotional strategies implemented by the Marketing Department of Amari Dhaka. In this report, the step by step actions taken and their rationale for boosting sales will be discussed as well. The report will analyze the strategies that lead to higher sales and the ways the marketing activities could be improved for greater outcome. How social media and traditional media are used hand in hand to reach the target audience and how the marketing efforts can be improved to provide better results.
