Abstract
The rich cultural history of the Murong people, the oldest indigenous group in Bangladesh's Chittagong Hill Tracts, is closely linked to their natural surroundings. Their social and economic systems are based on sustainable agricultural methods, especially jhum cultivation, which defines their identity as traditional hill dwellers. By putting the community's survival first and encouraging sustainable tourism, this architectural project in Bandarban challenges the expansion of typical mass tourist. It contests a five-star hotel proposal that would have uprooted the Murong tribe and disturbed their way of life. The project offers a paradigm for community-based tourism (CBT) that protects cultural heritage while improving local livelihoods by analyzing ecological diversity, cultural isolation, and community relocation. In order to promote harmony, the suggested design places a strong emphasis on community involvement, educational opportunities, and cultural preservation.
