| dc.description.abstract | In Bangladesh, mental health remains one of the most neglected areas in healthcare. Despite the increasing number of patients facing mental health challenges, the country continues to lack proper infrastructure, professionals, and educational opportunities to address this crisis. This thesis proposes the design of the Institute of Mental Health, Hemayetpur, Pabna, a postgraduate institution focused solely on mental health education and research. Located beside the historic Pabna Mental Hospital, the institute aims to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and practical application in the field of mental health. The design promotes a calm and inclusive learning environment, integrating therapy, research, and academic spaces. Strategic zoning, sustainable materials, and climate-responsive features, like green roofs and recessed windows, were incorporated to create an environment that supports healing and deep learning. The overall goal is to set a national standard for mental health education while contributing to a broader social change by reducing stigma and improving access to mental healthcare professionals. | en_US |
