This thesis explores the intricate interplay between glucosinolates, prominent phytochemicals found in the various ways that cruciferous vegetables can help prevent cancer. Glucosinolates are well known for their potential as chemopreventive agents for cancer, have garnered significant attention owing to their ability to inhibit carcinogenesis through various mechanisms. However, recent studies have unveiled a paradoxical aspect wherein certain glucosinolates exhibit antagonistic effects, raising questions about their overall efficacy in cancer prevention. This thesis delves into the intricate molecular mechanisms underlying these opposing actions, shedding light on the complex relationship between glucosinolates and cancer prevention.en_US
