Abstract

New output regulated one-switch boost and boost-buck three phase rectifiers are presented in this paper. Proposed three phase ac-dc converters have power factor correction (PFC) and input current shaping facility in one power stage. Use of minimum number of control switch in each proposed circuit reduces conversion circuit components, drivers and drive isolation circuits, sensors and control circuits. The operation and performance of the circuits are illustrated by simulation and experimental results. Both circuits are robust in terms of operation, maintenance, control and satisfactory efficiency of conversion. Input sides of the converters being of boost topology, they are capable of being controlled like single phase boost PFC rectifiers. The converter with boost-buck voltage gain characteristic is derived from DC-DC SEPIC converter.
