Analysis of the growth in e-wallet adoption and assessment of risk management strategies to ensure sustainable growth of MFS industry: insights from Nagad Limited

Abstract

This research reflects my observations and experiences while working as an intern at Nagad Ltd. It gives an overview of the MFS industry, forecasts the sales growth, and analyzes the risk management techniques which are required to ensure sustainable growth. In chapter 1, I have narrated my internship experience at Nagad Ltd, which includes my role, contribution, and the challenges I faced at Nagad Ltd. I had excellent learning because of my supervisor and other colleagues. However, I faced difficulties due to prolonged sitting, and I recommended Nagad to arrange standing desks and treadmills for employees. In chapter 2, I have discussed how the existing practices related to management, marketing, financial, accounting, operation management and information practices are contributing to grow the business. Lastly, a competitive analysis has been done through SWOT analysis and Porter’s 5 forces. Afterwards, this section of the report highlights the strengths and opportunities of Nagad, which made it a Unicorn company within a short time. Lastly, I provided some recommendations based on my observation and perspective. The 3rd chapter includes the project part. Here I have projected the growth of E-wallet, along with how proper risk management techniques help to ensure sustainable growth, and how sales growth and risk management are positively related. I gave recommendations for the growth of the MFS industry, and to manage its risks more efficiently. Therefore, through this research I have understood that MFS is a growing industry, and the risk management team plays a significant role for the growth of this industry. Hence, I plan to build a long-time career in the MFS industry.
