মাটি ও তাঁতের গল্প: A hub that revives Tangail’s artisan traditions and connects makers with visitors

Abstract

This seminar paper looks at the Traditional Handloom and Craft Center, which is situated in Nolshodha, Pathrail, Tangail, Bangladesh, and is a community effort. Built on a 6.7-acre plot of land approved by UBINIG, the project's goal is to protect, revive, and promote the rich handloom and artisan customs of the Tangail area. As a hub for traditional artisan, the facility offers areas for production, education, and information sharing while generating long-term economic benefits for nearby communities. By emphasizing local methods and resources, the initiative tackles the current issues of rural development, cultural preservation, and sustainable livelihoods in addition to protecting Bangladesh's cultural legacy. In order to preserve, revitalize, and promote the extensive handloom and pottery traditions of the Tangail region, the Traditional Handloom and Training Center, a community development project authorized by UBINIG and situated in Nolshodha, Pathrail, Tangail, Bangladesh, is being evaluated in this paper for its architectural design, conceptual framework, and possible effects on the local community and Bangladesh's larger cultural environment. The initiative promotes Bangladesh's handcrafted legacy while addressing contemporary issues of rural development, cultural preservation, and economic sustainability by concentrating on local materials and methods.
