Abstract

This report provides an overview of my internship experience at Palmal Group, focusing on its supply chain operations. The internship offered hands-on exposure to key supply chain functions of the organization, including procurement, inventory management and supplier coordination. Supply chain management plays a crucial role in the success of a garments company, as factors such as lead-time, productivity, efficiency, quality consistency etc. depend on it. During my internship period, I learned about how the organization, the garments industry and other companies in this industry function. My function as an intern was equivalent to that of a Senior Officer. This gave me opportunity to understand the organization’s supply chain operations from the root level and gave a glimpse of how the upper managements functions as well. This internship also allowed me to build a network with experienced professionals in the field, who shared their experience in the organization and the industry. Working here gave me opportunity to use my knowledge and also to identify the areas that can be improved. This report concludes with recommendations for improving the supply chain performance of the organization.
