dc.description.abstractThe fundamental reasons behind cardiovascular diseases are exacerbated by a vast number of signaling molecules. Sirtuin 6 (SIRT6) is a highly conserved NAD+dependent enzyme and essential in regulating a number of cellular events, including telomeric balance, gene expression, DNA repair as well as management of metabolism. As a matter of importance, SIRT6 not only aids in atherosclerosis and cardiac remodelling but also protects against the onset and progression of CVDs. Hypertrophy of cardiomyocytes, atherosclerosis, and fibroblast transformation are all suppressed by SIRT6. When it comes to the beginning and progression of different cardiovascular illnesses, the involvement of SIRT6 in glucose and lipid balance, genomic stability, and inflammation are crucial. This study provides a detail discussion on existing molecular mechanism, prevention as well as available treatment and prospective therapeutic modulators to control SIRT6-mediated CVDs.en_US
