Abstract

Cancer is the 3rd most common cause of death across the world. Prescription analysis of cancer patients is particularly significant because prescription errors during cancer treatment can produce severe side effects and can significantly reduce the treatment response of cancer patients. The current study involved the analysis of data collected from the prescription of 35 cancer patients during a questionnaire survey conducted previously in a cancer-specific hospital. From this study, it was found that 5-fluorouracil was the most commonly prescribed anticancer medication. It was administered to 14 patients with different types of cancer. In addition, anticancer drugs like cisplatin, paclitaxel, docetaxel, oxaliplatin, carboplatin, vinblastine, dacarbazine, vincristine, etoposide, bendamustine, rituximab, and ifosfamide are also prescribed to various cancer patients. The study didn’t identify any drug-drug interactions.
