dc.description.abstractThe COVID-19 pandemic caused major disruptions to global supply chains, including those for key construction materials. As the pandemic wanes and demand returns, the supply chain for materials like mild steel, cement and other materials faces lingering challenges that are slowing rebuilding efforts. Across all materials, depleted inventories, production limitations, and labor shortages continue hampering supply security and pricing power. Logistic delays and cost inflation are expected to hamper market stability through the near-term post-pandemic recovery. This strains rebuilding efforts and new construction initiatives. This report analyzes supply and demand trends for these vital commodities, identifying constraints and dynamics that continue impacting availability and pricing during the post-pandemic recovery. Here post-pandemic scenario, focusing on the supply chain of construction materials is also described. The study encompasses an in-depth examination of the challenges faced, adaptations made and recommendations for a more resilient future. Though gradually rebalancing, deliberate strategies are imperative to stabilize construction materials supply chains.en_US
