Risk management in procurement and supply chain for Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Shilpa Nagar Development Project

Abstract

There are risks in any work or development work. This is exactly what happened in the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Shilpa Nagar Development Project. My report is on Risk Management in Procurement and Supply Chain for Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Shilpa Nagar Development Project. Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Shilpa Nagar (BSMSN) is a big economic zone and has a total land area of thirty-three thousand acre. The BSMSN area is covered in the two districts (Chattogram and Feni), three upazila (Mirsarai, Sitakunda, and Sonagazi) under Chattogram division. The head office of the project is located at Agargaon, Dhaka. A lot of development works is going on in this project to create an industrial friendly environment. These large development works require procurement of goods, works and services. Different methods were adopted to procure different items at different times. There are risks arises when procuring goods, works or services in BSMSN Development Project. In this discussion, the report comprises a brief overview of the types of risks that arises in the procurement of goods, works or services and how these risks can be managed.
