Abstract

This report aims to discuss the results and learning experience of the internship program at Rongobuy Private Limited, which is undertaken as a requirement of the MBA degree course at BRAC University. The report, titled "Digital Marketing Strategies to Boost E-Commerce Sales," identifies the main activities, plans, obstacles, and successes of digital marketing operations on one of the leading e-commerce platforms. The internship, which took place between November 20, 2024, and February 27, 2025, was conducted under the guidance of Md. Hafizur Rahman, Director of Marketing. My responsibilities included social media management, content creation, market research, campaign execution, competitor analysis, and performance analysis using analytical tools. These tasks provided hands-on experience with leading digital marketing instruments such as SEO, PPC, email automation, and Google Analytics. Rongobuy’s digital marketing strategy focused on content marketing, social media promotions, email campaigns, and paid advertisements to attract and retain customers, strengthen brand awareness, and increase sales. During the internship, social media engagement improved by roughly 25%, while sales conversion rose by approximately 12% due to targeted campaigns and optimized advertisements. In contrast, the company faced challenges such as budget constraints that limited ad reach and campaign participation rates below 40% in some seasonal promotions, emphasizing the need for better audience segmentation and creative refinement. Based on these insights, three key recommendations are proposed: 1. Prioritize data-driven content planning to align campaign messaging with target audience interests. 2. Reallocate promotional budgets toward the highest-performing digital channels identified through analytics. 3. Implement continuous A/B testing to refine ad performance and maximize engagement efficiency. Overall, the internship provided a meaningful integration of academic learning and professional practice, offering real-world exposure to digital marketing operations and strengthening the technical, analytical, and collaborative competencies required for a successful marketing career.
