| dc.description.abstract | This thesis adds to the expanding knowledge base on the influence of genetic variations on the way drugs are processed and how individuals respond to them. The knowledge acquired from this research has the capacity to provide information and improve therapeutic procedures, ultimately leading to the development of more individualised and efficient medication. Comprehending the significance of genetic variations in drug metabolism and response is crucial for customising efficient and individualised treatment. This thesis investigates the complex correlation between genetic differences and their impact on metabolism and the responsiveness to medicinal interventions. This study thoroughly examines the available literature and empirical evidence to investigate the processes by which genetic variations affect drug metabolic pathways, effectiveness, and adverse responses. Furthermore, this thesis examines the consequences of these discoveries on clinical practice and the formulation of precision medicine initiatives. The study utilises a multidisciplinary methodology, combining genomic data, pharmacokinetic investigations, and clinical observations to understand the intricacies linked to drug metabolism. The focus is on comprehending the impact of particular genetic variations on the function of important drug-metabolizing enzymes, such as cytochrome P450s and UDP-glucuronosyltransferases.
